Today Lily said "I love Henry!" (Henry is Anna's mangy dog on the left.) She's been saying "I love you" to people when i tell her to, but this was the first time she ever said she loved something. And it's a dog that's not even ours.
PS- This picture was not posed. Anna and I were sitting at her picnic table talking and I turned around to see Lily just standing like that with the dogs. :)

It seems like she already loved dogs when she was born. Glad she can put it into words now! :-)
ReplyDelete... I don't know that I would tell Oscar this story ... or show him the picture! :)
ReplyDeleteSweet Lily!! Hugs from GOGO.
Don't feel bad -- I'm pretty sure the first thing I ever expressed love for was a dog that didn't belong to my parents. I loved my Nana's Shetland sheepdog more than life itself when I was a kid. I have scores of childhood drawings of "Bonnie." :-) You do realize, though, that in a few years Lily will start pestering for her own dog...(I think I started at 5 or 6 at the time I realized most of my classmates at school had their own dogs...my parents managed to hold out until I was 10).
